Immerse Yourself In Art & Ceremony |

Design with Intent!
Upward & Inward A
Retreat for Women
Sponsored by BabS Bead Warehouse & Coach Force September 11-15, 2008
In a lifetime we experience many rites of passage...
time
to make a dynamic shift!
From the dawn of man we have used adornment as a palate for our belief structure. Ancient cultures celebrated life changes through ceremony, vision quest and the creation of an object, a talisman to symbolize their journey.
This retreat integrates two ancient arts to facilitate your purely exquisite purpose. |
Sometimes we conciously choose change, sometimes it is thrust upon us. A new direction, looking for passion in what we are doing, no matter what the transition, it requires a dynamic shift. It is a renewed perception, a beginning that requires thought, reverence and recognition.
Raven Lamoreux-Dodd and BabS Snyderman have a wonderful retreat for your important shift. Set in the beautiful environment of a sub-tropical island; you will journey with masters of their arts to the inner goddess, to find your empowered vision for your rite of passage. Through Shamanic Ceremony - Vision Quest with Raven and hands on studio time with BabS, Master Metalsmith and Jewelry Designer, you will access a whole new level of creativity within. |
BabS Snyderman The combiningof these two disciplines will empower you to create your own beautiful shield that integrates your vision and forever reflects the power of your intent for your important shift. Your shield may be a piece of jewelry, an objet d'art, a wall hanging or more. The possibilities are all yours... |
Beginning
her journey at an early age with found object sculpture, BabS showed
a natural affinity for BabS began teaching in the 70's with the US Army, teaching lost wax casting and ceramics. In the 80's she moved to SW Florida and quickly became known for her spiritually inspired jewelry designs. She went on to teach workshops through the Alliance of the Arts.
She owns BabS Bead Warehouse, LLC with her husband Kerry Snyderman where she teaches and assists jewelry designers to achieve their creative visions. A master of contemporary application of ancient technique, BabS integrates old world knowledge with future vision in an expression of Inspired Design. After many years of customer requests, she now offers her spiritually inspired design process in this Four Day Retreat, allowing you to fully imerse yourself in the process of DESIGN WITH INTENT. "Since
the first ceremony with Raven, I have found that doing ceremony to
recognize, honor and give voice to your intent gives it more power.
Studying with Raven has helped me integrate my spirituality with
my actions. It helps me to focus on what is precious." BabS |
Raven
Lamoreux-Dodd first noticed a desire to conduct ceremony at eight years
old. Kneeling in the pew at the Catholic Church, observing the priest
conducting mass in his purple and white robes, listening to the chanting
in Latin, smelling the frankinsence, she became impassioned by the
reverence and the ritual and decided that this is what she wanted to
do.
During her teens, Raven began to study philosophy and the healing of other cultures. She connected deeply with nature and a desire to help and heal others. She spent her weekends rescuing accident victims as a member of the Canadian Ski Patrol. New Year's Eve 1970, she met her greatest shaman/mentor who was her guide for 28 years. During her journey, at each rite of passage, more masters appeared to teach her the Martial Arts, Japanese Tea Ceremony, Chinese Painting and Calligraphy, the sudy of Herbology and Ancient Mystical Ceremony. Raven went on to study Shamanism, Native American and Celtic Ceremony, Egyptian and Hawaiian ritual. |
In 1992, the United Nations selected Raven to teach Shamanism and ceremony at an international cultural festival in New Zealand. She continues to teach internationally and is based in Naples Florida. She is a certified graduate of the Coaches Training Institute and enhances her coaching by designing unique ceremonies for groups and individuals. Through ceremony and shamanic journeying, Raven has taken her creative talents to a new level with ceremonial art, jewelry and writing. "Studying metalwork with BabS and being inspired by her exquisite designs and superb sense of style has expanded my artistic horizons." Raven

Since the dawn of time, man has identified himself by what he wears Your jewelry is a testament to your beliefs Celebrating individual empowerment!
Combining the energires of these two teachers beautifully marries the two disciplines of art and ceremony. Immersed in the relaxed environment of SW Florida you will enjoy the beautiful Gulf of Mexico on Fort Myers Beach. We have planned the time of the retreat to coincide with the turtle nesting season. The community that is hosting us considers this time sacred for the turtles and there are guidelines about how to conduct oneself especially in the dark of the evening when the baby turtles are leaving the nests and heading for the water. This energy will enhance our ceremonies and shamanic journeying, as Turtle is a symbol of Mother Earth and her guidance is very powerful. Also the retreat is about new beginnings and we will have the birth of turtles going on up and down the beach.
Friday Evening
we will have a catered dinner and a presentation by Eve Haverfield
of Turtletime, Inc., a not-for-profit organization
dedicated to the continued survival of loggerhead sea turtles. The number of attendees is limited to give BabS and Raven the time to provide you with personal care and guidance adding to your lifelong skills on a deep and powerful level. To enhance your vision quest, a library with resources of the combined lifelong learning of both Raven and BabS will be available for your enjoyment. |
